International Artisan Bread
In 2012, we introduced our Artisan line of products branded under the Artisan International name. Artisan bread is exactly what its name suggests: bread that is hand-crafted, and baked in small batches with special attention to ingredients, processes, and a return to the fundamentals of the age-old bread-making tradition. The process of crafting and baking artisan bread has remained relatively unchanged throughout history.
We offer several varieties of artisan breads, some having a very light, delicate flavor while others may have a very strong taste and flavor, depending on the ingredients and preparation or baking processes used.
Our artisan bread is made using simple all natural ingredients that are mixed, slowly fermented, hand shaped, and baked in small batches in masonry ovens. Often, steam is utilized during the baking process to produce the crispy golden-brown crust characteristic of certain varieties of artisan bread. Our master-trained artisan baker pays special attention to the details of chemistry to produce specific crumb and crust textures. Since chemical additives are not used, the flavors of each ingredient are fully developed. For more complex, flavored artisan breads, sliced onions, cheese, spices, olive oil or nuts may be added.
